As you walk down Nakamise Street at Asakusa Kaminarimon Gate in Taito Ward, Tokyo, you will come across the magnificent Hozomon Gate. It was originally called Niomon Gate because of the two Nio statues enshrined there. When it was rebuilt, the treasures of Sensoji Temple were stored there, and it came to be called Hozomon Gate.
